Potawatomi State Park Current conditions


All trails are open. Bald eagles, great blue herons, common mergansers and buffleheads have been seen flying over Sawyer Harbor. Many visitors are still spotting wild turkeys mainly by the park entrance. Many flowers are in bloom in the park. A turtle was spotted laying eggs along the rocky shoreline.

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

All campsites and facilities are open for the season.

Campsites may be reserved online or by calling 1-888-947-2757.


The launching piers are in the water at Sawyer Harbor.

The fish cleaning station is open.

The park’s accessible fishing pier was severely damaged by high waves in 2014 and removed from the water. The Friends of Potawatomi State Park plan have started a fundraising campaign to support replacement of the accessible fishing pier in the picnic area. Park store

The park store is open daily through Labor Day weekend:

  • Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bicycles, canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rowboats may be rented at the store. Phone 920-746-8663.

More information

The park office is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Sun. through Thu.), and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Fridays and Saturdays).

A vehicle admission sticker is required year-round. If the office is closed, please self-register for vehicle admission stickers and campsites on the porch of the office building.
