Potawatomi State Park Current conditions

All trails are open. The most popular trail to hike is the Tower Trail (3.6-mile loop) which also includes a section of the Ice Age Trail. The trees are starting to change color with a lot of yellows and oranges, and the tower is very popular in the fall to view the trees. Several deer and turkey have been spotted closer to dusk.

Fall leaves at the park.

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

All campsites and facilities are open for the season.

Campsites may be reserved online or by calling 1-888-947-2757.

The shower building will close for the season on Monday, Oct. 23. All other water systems, including the fish cleaning station and dump station will close on Oct. 24. Drinking water is available year-round near the campground shelter.

The launching piers are in the water at Sawyer Harbor and will be taken out for the season the week of Nov. 6.

The fish cleaning station is open until Oct. 24.

The park’s accessible fishing pier was severely damaged by high waves in 2014 and removed from the water. The Friends of Potawatomi State Park plan have started a fundraising campaign to support replacement of the accessible fishing pier in the picnic area. Please visit the Friends website [exit DNR] for more information.

Park store

The park store is closed for the season. Firewood may be available using the self-serve honor system, and can also be purchased within 10 miles of the park.
