Mirror Lake State Park Current conditions

Trails

Trails are open.

Fern Dell Trail Detour: Due to wet conditions, a portion of the Fern Dell Trail is closed to all uses. There is a marked detour route onto a couple of trails and Fern Dell Road. Hikers will cross Fern Dell Road and follow signs along the Time Warp and Northwest trails to bring them back to the Fern Dell Trail/Park Office. Bikers are not allowed to operate on trails on the North side of Fern Dell Road, therefore they can bike along Fern Dell Road, approximately 0.5 miles to the intersection of Fern Dell Road and Hastings Road where they can enter onto the Fern Dell Trail again to continue biking off-road.

Events

Naturalist programs are offered primarily on Saturdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Nature program schedules are also posted on park bulletin boards and at the park office. For a complete list of upcoming programs, see Mirror Lake events.

Kids are also encouraged to participate in the Wisconsin Explorer Program.

Camping

Don't move firewood!

Don't move firewood!Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, Wisconsin has restrictions for moving firewood.

Campgrounds and facilities are open for the season.

All campers, including those with reservations, must register/check in at the park office before setting up camp. Remember, no one may set up between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Campsite reservations for dates in May through October are highly recommended especially for weekends, holidays and electrical sites. A limited number of campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis; however these sites generally fill up early during the summer and weekends in the fall.

Fishing and boating

For size and bag limits for Mirror Lake, see the General Inland Waters section in the current fishing regulations and trout fishing regulations for category status of Mirror Lake and Dell Creek.

Mirror Lake is slow-no-wake for the entire lake; this makes the lake a very enjoyable experience for paddling and fishing. There are two boat landings on Mirror Lake. One is located within the state park and hosts our concessions and boat rentals. The other is the Town of Delton launch which is located on Lakeview Road off State Highway 23 at the west end of the lake.

Visitor center

The Mirror Lake Visitor Center is the place to go for park information, to register for camping and to buy a vehicle admission sticker. The park office is open daily from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. with extended hours on Friday and Saturday nights. If you arrive when the office is closed, the self-registration station is located next to the front door.

Summer office hours begin Thursday, May 25 and continue through Labor Day weekend:

  • Thursday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday-Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
