Sustainable communities sector

Wisconsin communities make decisions every day that impact their overall sustainability. Taking a comprehensive approach to energy, infrastructure and service to community residents and for themselves directly impacts the environmental, social and economic health of the community.

The DNR's sustainable communities sector development specialist, Laurel Sukup, looks forward to your input on how DNR can most effectively help with sustainability endeavors in your community. Please email her your ideas. And keep an eye on this website for updates!

Alongside the confluence of two scenic rivers, the city of Eau Claire partners with DNR to turn a former brownfield property into a community jewel.

Communities involved in Green Tier

Several Wisconsin communities are leading by example through their participation in the Legacy Communities Green Tier Charter. Sharing ideas and sustainability plans is proving beneficial for both tax payers and the environment.
