Halfmoon Lake Fishery Area is an "Areas of Special Natural Resource Interest" (ASNRI) that includes warmwater fish species. The property also includes forested wetland, lowland shrub wetland, and cultural sites.

Halfmoon Lake Fishery Area is also next to North Bend Bottoms Wildlife Area.
