Endangered resources tax checkoff

Donate to the Endangered Resources Fund through your Wisconsin income tax form and sustain the wild Wisconsin you love. Your gift is tax-deductible and matched dollar for dollar. Such contributions are critical, providing 25 percent of funding for work by DNR Natural Heritage Conservation staff, partners and volunteers to protect and restore Wisconsin's rare wildlife, plants and State Natural Areas.

Donate directly on your tax form

Look for the "donations" area on your Wisconsin income tax form [exit DNR].

Line numbers vary by tax form.

Sample Wisconsin tax form

Although donors can no longer “look for the loon” – the traditional slogan and icon in the donation section of the state tax form – you can still gift a portion of your tax return to the Endangered Resources Fund.

How your donation works for wild Wisconsin

Any gift, big or small, makes a difference for Wisconsin’s rare wildlife and State Natural Areas and will help assure future generations can enjoy them. View our slide show to see donations like yours at work. Read our 2016 Annual Report [PDF] for success stories and new species discovered. See how we’ll use your donation in 2017 to benefit wildlife, native plants and natural areas.
