Wisconsin Storm Water Manual
Originally published in 1994, this technical manual was developed to aid local units of government, developers, contractors, and consulting engineers in controlling storm water pollutants from existing and new developments. Part One is an overview. The second part of the manual is an elaboration of technical design guidelines for storm water management practices.

Wisconsin Adminstrative Code NR 216 addresses the details of the Storm Water Permit Program.

Authorized Local Program (ALP) For Storm Water Construction Site Permitting [PDF 174KB]

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (Department), under s. NR 216.415, Wis. Adm. Code, allows a municipality to become an Authorized Local Program (ALP) to allow a municipality to authorize coverage under a Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) storm water construction site permit. Becoming an ALP is not mandatory, but it is an opportunity for a municipality.
