The Lower Fox River TMDL Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee educates the public and helps address stakeholder concerns during both TMDL development and implementation. Objectives include:

• developing key messages,
• developing and implementing a communication and outreach strategy for TMDL development and implementation,and
• meeting with key stakeholder groups.

The committee works closely with key stakeholders (agriculture, stormwater, industrial and municipal dischargers, etc.) to gather concerns and questions during the TMDL development and implementation process. Members share information gathered via outreach tools (media, stakeholder meetings, social indicators) with the TMDL Technical Team. This information is used in decision making for the various allocation and restoration scenarios.
