Water Quality Assessment Reports to Congress

The Federal Clean Water Act requires that states report on the condition of waters in a biannual water quality report to Congress. These reports provide a summary of water programs and resource condition on a statewide basis as well as updates to the state's Impaired Waters List.

The state's current report to Congress is now available in electronic format. Previous reports were published in 2008, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2000, 1996, 1994, 1992, 1990, 1988, 1987 and earlier. DNR's earlier documents are available for review at the GEF II building, 101 S Webster St, Madison. Later versions are available electronically.
