County zoning offices issue permits as described in local zoning ordinances. Local ordinances generally address building standards, floodplain regulations, shoreland regulations, shoreland-wetland regulations, and other development issues. Towns may also have regulations in unincorporated areas. If you live in a city or village, you will need to contact your community´s office for more information on regulations.
