Geographic Information Systems

Interested in getting a shapefile so that you may view Wisconsin Dams in a Geographic Information System (GIS)? Below is a shapefile of Wisconsin Dams that can be used in a GIS. The shapefile contains points which represent the locations for all dams recorded in the Dam Safety database. The points in the shapefile are updated when incorrect locations of dams are noted (we are not perfect) or new dams are added to the database. Updates occur often, so make sure check back for the most up to date version!

Click on the link to download a zipped version of the shapefile, metadata, and associated files. It is recommended that you save this zip file to your hard drive, and open it from there.
