Projects in SWIMS

SWIMS, Wisconsin DNR's surface water data system, organizes information by "project" or the purpose of why the work was conducted. This organizing framework supports a variety of different types of information:

  • Monitoring Projects
  • Grant Projects
  • Habitat Restoration and Evaluation Studies
  • Watershed Planning Projects
The image at right shows the top level page for entering the system. Users of the system are assigned to specific projects, which are define which areas they can edit or update. Other projects are searchable and viewable. Data from projects can be accessed through the Surface Water Data Viewer (SWDV).

For example, lake, river and nonpoint source grant information is viewable and searchable in the viewer. Click here to see a snapshot of how a River Grant is displayed in the SWDV from SWIMS.

To view a "report" generated for a specific project, see this TRM Grant List for FY09.
