This data represents waterbodies where Curly-Leaf Pondweed has been found. This aquatic invasive plant may be growing in other waterbodies, but its presence has not been confirmed outside of the waters listed here. Curly-Leaf Pondweed monitoring is conducted on Wisconsin's lakes and streams in the summer months, with the presence lists compiled in the fall.
CLP grows very quickly and can choke waterways, hampering boat access, fish passage, and water supply intakes. The plants fragment easily, and fragments attached to watercraft can take root in uninfested lakes. By state law, boaters must remove aquatic plants and zebra mussels from their boat before entering a lake, river or stream.
