Water Monitoring Team Composition

Water Monitoring Team Members:

Membership of the Water Monitoring Team provides broad and equitable representation of the many programs dependent upon water monitoring data. Staff assigned to the Team are permanent, standing members.

The Water Monitoring Team is comprised of the following types of staff:

  • Sponsors: Bureau Directors from Drinking Water & Groundwater, Fisheries & Habitat Protection, and Watershed Management.
  • Co-Leaders: One Section Chief each from the Bureaus of Drinking Water & Groundwater, Fisheries Management & Habitat Protection, and Watershed Management.
  • Regional Representatives: Appropriate Water Division staff appointed by each of the State’s five Regional Water Leaders in consultation with the Team Sponsors.
  • Technical Sub-Team Leaders: Nine technical sub-teams address the many details associated with the design, applied field methodology, and implementation of water monitoring. Each of the Sub-Team leaders also serves as a member of the Water Monitoring Team.

Technical Sub-Teams:

Technical Sub-Teams are comprised of a core of staff with a high level of technical knowledge and applied field sampling experience. Each of the nine Technical Sub-Teams is considered a “Standing Team” and is comprised of a Sub-Team Leader and other staff with high degree of relevant technical expertise to assist the Sub-Team Leader in fulfilling his/her role on the Water Monitoring Team.

The nine Sub-Teams are as follows:

  • Streams

  • Lakes
  • Great Lakes
  • Wetlands
  • Groundwater
  • Citizen Monitoring
  • Data Management
  • Water Quality
