Abbotsford Pond, T29N, R2E, Section 21 Surface Acres = 3.9, Maximum Depth = 5 feet, Secchi Disk = 4 feet A medium hard water drainage lake (impoundment) having slightly alkaline, light brown water of low transparency. Littoral materials consist primarily of sand. The entire shoreline is hardwood upland. Fish inhabiting this lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and panfish. A sparse growth of submergent aquatic vegetation is present. There is no public frontage. Amco Park, a private development, provides a picnic site and swimming facilities to the public. A water control structure having a height of 5 feet is located at the outlet. This flowage is maintained for recreational use. Both the inlet and outlet are a part of the West Branch of the Big Eau Pleine River. Navigable water type public access is available via the inlet and outlet.

Where the scale is 1-5 1= Beautiful, could not be any nicer; 2= Very minor aesthetic problems - excellent for swimming, boating, enjoyment; 3= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment slightly impaired because of algae levels; 4= Desire to swim and level of enjoyment of the lake substantially reduced because of algae (would not swim, but boating ok); 5= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment of the lake nearly impossible because of algae level.
Trophic state is another indicator of water quality.
