McMillan WLA Pool 6, T26N, R3E, Section 19 Surface Acres = 46.0, Maximum Depth = 7 feet, Secchi Disk = 5 feet A soft water drained lake (impoundment) having slightly acid, light brown water of low transparency. The entire shoreline is wetland of shrub, hardwood, and marsh. The entire littoral zone is muck. Information on the fishery resource is lacking. Emergent and submergent vegetation are present over much of the basin. A water control structure of 7 head feet controls the lake level. The outlet flows to the Little Eau Pleine River. The entire shoreline is owned by the Department of Natural Resources, which provides wilderness public access. This flowage is part of a complex of flowages managed for waterfowl within the McMillan Marsh Wildlife Area.

Where the scale is 1-5 1= Beautiful, could not be any nicer; 2= Very minor aesthetic problems - excellent for swimming, boating, enjoyment; 3= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment slightly impaired because of algae levels; 4= Desire to swim and level of enjoyment of the lake substantially reduced because of algae (would not swim, but boating ok); 5= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment of the lake nearly impossible because of algae level.
Trophic state is another indicator of water quality.
