Mead WLA Pool 5, T26N, R6E, Section 33 Surface Acres = 336.0, Maximum Depth = 8 feet, Secchi Disk = 6 feet A very soft water drained lake (impoundment) having slightly acid, medium brown water of moderate transparency. The immediate shoreline (80 percent, is predominantly upland hardwood with the remainder being wetland of shrub and marsh. The littoral materials are silt (70 percent) and muck (30 percent). Emergent aquatic vegetation grows in dense quantities while floating types are sparse. In the spring, northern pike and carp use this lake for spawning. Unimproved or difficult public access with parking has been provided. The entire shoreline is owned by the Department of Natural Resources. A water control structure of 4 head-feet is located at the outlet. The outlet flows to the Little Eau Pleine River. This flowage is part of a complex of flowages managed for waterfowl within the George Mead Wildlife Area.
