Stenson Lake, T26N, R10E, Section 22 Surface Acres = 58.2, Maximum Depth = 8 feet, Secchi Disk = 4 feet A medium hard water seepage lake having slightly alkaline, light brown water of low transparency. The immediate shoreline is 50 percent upland of hardwoods and cultivated land and 50 percent wetland of bog, shrub, conifer, and marsh. The littoral materials are composed of muck (60 percent), sand (35 percent), and gravel (5 percent). Submergent aquatic vegetation grows in moderate quantities, while floating and emergent types are sparse. Fish inhabiting this lake include northern pike, rock bass, pumpkinseed, creek chub, and central mudminnow. The lake experiences occasional winterkill. There is no public access or public frontage. Three dwellings are located along the shoreline.

Where the scale is 1-5 1= Beautiful, could not be any nicer; 2= Very minor aesthetic problems - excellent for swimming, boating, enjoyment; 3= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment slightly impaired because of algae levels; 4= Desire to swim and level of enjoyment of the lake substantially reduced because of algae (would not swim, but boating ok); 5= Swimming and aesthetic enjoyment of the lake nearly impossible because of algae level.
Trophic state is another indicator of water quality.
