Cone of Depression As water is pumped from the well, the area between the normal water table and the pumping water level creates an area known as the cone of depression. If the drawdown is low, the cone of depression may only extend for a short distance away from the well. Conversely, if the drawdown is high, the cone of depression can extend hundreds of feet from the well. |
