Well Drawdown

The drawdown is the difference between the static water level and the pumping water level. The drawdown is determined by the ability of the aquifer to replace the amount of water that is being pumped. If there is an abundance of water in an aquifer that can move freely to the well, the drawdown will be fairly low. Conversely, if the water cannot move through the formation quickly, the drawdown can be high.
