DRINKING WATER STANDARDS

Drinking water standards are the levels established for contaminants in drinking water. It is your responsibility to assure these standards are being met. A full list of standards can be found in Chapter NR 809 Subchapter I, W.A.C. and are comprised of:

  • Primary drinking water standards
  • Secondary drinking water standards
  • Maximum Contaminant Level Goal (MCLG)
  • Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL)
  • Best Available Technology (BAT)
  • Treatment Technique Requirement (TTR)
  • Variances and Conditional Waivers
