Noncommunity Water Systems

Noncommunity water systems are associated with places people visit.

A Nontransient Noncommunity Water System (NTNC) is a water system that:

  • Serves at least 25 of the same people more than six months of the year, but not as a primary residence.
  • Examples are schools, businesses, and day cares.

A Transient Noncommunity Water System (TN) is a water system that:

  • Serves 25 or more people at least 60 days of the year, but does not serve the same people more than six months of the year.
  • Examples are motels, restaurants, parks, campgrounds, taverns, and gas stations.

This training addresses the certification requirements for OTM and NTNC operators.
