Summary:

Through a slide presentation, your class will learn about the events leading to the birth of the science of Wildlife Management. They will also look at some case studies in which wildlife management has played an important role.

Procedure:

Through a classroom style talk chronicle the events leading to the development of wildlife management as well as changes in management theory and the agencies responsible for managing our wildlife today. Explain how wildlife management is used as a tool, to benefit wildlife populations, using specific examples. Include a discussion on how humans interact with and impact wildlife and their habitat on a daily basis.

Wrap-up:

Discuss the importance of biodiversity and the role of hunting in wildlife management today for maintaining a balance between humans and wildlife.
