Bear Lake

Bear Lake Fish and Wildlife is a 262 acre property located in south central Washburn County on the west side of Bear Lake. Aspen, northern hardwood, marsh, lowland brush, swamp hardwood and swamp conifer make up the habitat types of Bear Lake Fish and Wildlife Area. The property includes a portion of and mouth of Boyer Creek and a small segment of Sucker Creek. There is a small parking area for access to the property on Shallow Lake road approximately 3.5 miles south of Hwy. D.

History of Management

This property was purchased in 1964 to protect the mouth of Boyer Creek, a portion of Sucker Creek as well as Bear Lake shoreline.
