Previous Wisconsin Pheasant Stamp Design Contest WinnersThe pheasant stamp was created in 1991 to provide funding for pheasant restoration and management. The management of ring-necked pheasants in Wisconsin is in large part due to revenues generated from the sale of pheasant stamps. A pheasant stamp is required statewide by all pheasant hunters. Pheasant stamp funds are used for developing, managing, preserving, restoring, and maintaining the wild pheasant population in the state and contribute to the stocking of put-and-take pheasants on public hunting grounds each fall. Habitat projects funded by pheasant stamp dollars along with countless partner dollars and efforts have managed, preserved, and restored thousands of acres of nesting and winter habitat. The Wisconsin Pheasant Stamp Design Contest judging is usually held in October each year. To request information and rules about the contest, send mail to: Assistant Upland Ecologist
