Volunteer Jamboree Draws Crowd

The 2005 Wisconsin State Park System Volunteer Jamboree took place September 11-13 at the Mauthe Lake campground in the Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. It drew a record 145 attendees from 25 properties around the state.

The event was held to honor campground hosts, other volunteers, and friends who work at statewide on our parks, forests, and trails. The participants camped for free, explored the forest, ate a pig roast dinner, and toured of the Ice Age Interpretive Center, Parnell Tower, Kettle Moraine Fish Hatchery, and Old Wade House.
