Work at Whitefish Dunes State Park

Every spring Whitefish Dunes recruits two to four limited-term employees to assist in regular park operations during the summer. Applications are typically due by April 1, unless otherwise indicated. Employee housing is available. Positions include:

  • Visitor Services Assistant: Greet visitors and collect fees for stickers. Provide information; work with a personal computer, answer phones and two-way radio, type and file.
  • Facilities Repair Worker: Perform duties assigned to park maintenance staff. Do skilled maintenance and repair. Operate specialized tools and heavy equipment.
  • Ranger: Enforce all Wisconsin State Statutes and Department of Natural Resources Administrative Codes. A separate application and resume are due by February 1. Applicants must have completed basic police recruit training.

Volunteering

Whitefish Dunes promotes volunteer activities year round. Opportunities include staffing the Nature Center, conducting children’s Big Red Tent, and assisting with habitat improvement projects or endangered/threatened species counts. Volunteering could simply be picking up litter in the park.
