Peninsula State Park

Peninsula State Park, established in 1909, is a 3,776-acre state treasure on Wisconsin's Door County peninsula.

Peninsula Centennial

Rocky bluffs ascend over 150 feet while deer graze contentedly in abandoned farm fields. Considered Wisconsin's most complete park, Peninsula is also its most popular camping destination, with 468 campsites.

The park's mission is to protect the natural and scenic resources of the park and to provide compatible forms of outdoor recreation and education.

Recreational opportunities are boundless. Visitors can picnic, hike, bike, boat, fish, golf and swim during spring, summer and fall. Picnic shelters can be rented for group events.

Winter offers cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and snowmobiling. Camping, nature programs, and sightseeing are offered year-round.

Special attractions include the historic Eagle Bluff lighthouse,an 18-hole golf course, musical theater in the park. Take a virtual tour of the Eagle Trail.

The park has a rich heritage, from Potawatomis and pioneers to a girls' camp and state game farm.

How to Get There

From Green Bay, take State Highway 57 north toward Sturgeon Bay.

From Manitowoc, Take State Highway 42 north toward Sturgeon Bay

Before you get to Sturgeon Bay, Highways 57 and 42 join. Stay on State Highway 42 north to Fish Creek, where the highway turns east (right). Go .5 mile farther on Highway 42; the park entrance is on the north (left).
