Kettle Moraine State Forest—Southern Unit
Picnic Shelter Rentals

The Southern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest has picnic tables and grills at a number of the recreation and trail areas. In addition, several areas have shelters and one has an amphitheater that can be reserved for group activities. All picnic shelters are accessible for people with disabilities and located near accessible restrooms.

Reservations for these picnic areas may be made up to 11 months ahead of your event in person or by mailing in an application [PDF, 112KB] to the Forest Headquarters . Reservations may be made by telephone during June, July and August by contacting the Ottawa Lake Visitor Center. These requests must include the date the facility is desired, location of facility, name of the group, and the anticipated number of guests in the group.

  • Capacity: Approximately 40-50 people

Rice Lake Picnic Area
