Facilities and Services at Governor DodgeConcessions PicnickingThere are eight designated picnic areas. Picnic shelters are available at Enee Point, the amphitheater, Twin Valley picnic area, and Cox Hollow and Twin Valley beaches. Contact the park office for shelter reservation information. The "carry in-carry out" program is in effect at the Twin Valley beach, all shelters, wayside picnic areas, and boat landings. No garbage or recycling bins are provided in these areas. Please bring a bag to carry out your garbage and recyclables. Thanks for helping out by carrying out what you carried in! ConcessionsThe Dodgeville Kiwanis Club operates a concession stand at the Cox Hollow Beach area. The stand offers boat and canoe rentals, soda, coffee, ice cream, pizza, ice, charcoal, T-shirts, and miscellaneous snack items. The concession is open daily Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Facilities for People with DisabilitiesThere are accessible shelter buildings at Cox Hollow Beach and Enee Point picnic areas. Accessible toilet facilities and picnic tables are provided at both beaches, Cox Hollow boat landing, and Enee Point picnic area. Accessible water fountains are conveniently placed throughout the park. A fishing deck is available at Cox Hollow boat landing. The park amphitheater has two parking stalls and a paved path that allows visitors access to evening nature programs.
A ten-foot-wide paved trail, 1/4 mile long, leads to a beautiful overlook near Stephens waterfall, pictured here. Accessible parking is available at the trailhead. Campsites #16 and #55 in the Cox Hollow campground and sites #241 and #355 in the Twin Valley campground are reservable for visitors with disabilities. Both sites have electricity and paved driveways. The toilet buildings in these areas have separate toilet/shower facilities for campers with disabilities. Ask at the office for a key to the facilities. Access is also provided to several playground components in both family campground play areas. Group campsite "E" in the Hickory Ridge group campground has a paved path to the campsite and toilet facilities. VolunteersThere are numerous volunteer opportunities available at Governor Dodge. Volunteers serve as camp hosts, adopt a trail sponsors, naturalists, maintenance helpers, and Friends Group members. Pick up a volunteer application and join our team. HuntingHunters with special permits may hunt turkey, deer and small game in the park in season. Special regulations apply for each hunt. See the turkey hunting map.
