Fischer Creek State Recreation Area

This 123-acre area has about a mile of Lake Michigan shoreline, scenic wooded bluffs, grasslands and wetlands. It's a place for hiking, picknicking, wildlife viewing, and relaxing on the beach. There's no camping.

Much of the Lake Michigan shoreline consists of scenic bluffs that rise 40 to 8 feet above the water level. The recreation area also includes more than 600 feet of river frontage on Fischer Creek, including the mouth of the creek.

It is managed by Manitowoc County. The county's Fischer Creek Web page [exit DNR] includes a map.

How to Get There

Fischer Creek is between Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Take Interstate Highway 42 to Exit 137. Go east on County Highway XX through Cleveland to County Highway LS. Turn left (north) and go about 1.8 miles; the parking area will be on your right.
