Devil's River State Trail
This scenic rail trail in Brown and Manitowoc counties travels through four small communities while passing by a wide variety of scenery, including farmlands, prairies, rivers and wetlands. The trail features two dramatic railroad trestles crossing the Devil's River and tributaries.

Two segments of the trail are now open. The 2-mile segment in Brown County from Denmark to the county line (Cooperstown Road) is open, and a 6-mile segment of the trail is open in Manitowoc County from Greenstreet Road to Rockwood Road. The two segments are separated by a gap in the trail which is currently under development.
Activities
The Devil's River State Trail may bring a number of different users to the trail at the same time. It is important to use good trail etiquette to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all trail users.

Walking & Bicycling
The level grade and smooth surface make this trail suitable for bicyclists, walkers and joggers. The trail is great for avid bird watchers and nature advocates. Many different bird and wildlife species can be seen along the trail.
Pet owners, please be sure to have your pet on a leash, 8 feet or shorter, at all times. You must pick up after your pet.
The fairly level grade and smooth limestone surface make most of this trail accessible to wheelchair users and others with mobility impairments.
Winter Activities
Snowmobiles are permitted on the open segments of the trail. Operators must follow all Wisconsin snowmobile laws, including traveling no more than 15 miles per hour within any of the village limits. The Devil's River State Trail also connects to numerous miles of Brown and Manitowoc county snowmobile trails.
The trail is open to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, however, the trail is not groomed, and skiers and snowshoers must share the trail with snowmobiles.

How to Get There
The trailhead in Denmark features a depot-shelter building and has parking and restrooms available. The trailhead is located at the intersection of Pine Street and Railroad Avenue in Denmark.
In Manitowoc County, parking is available adjacent to the trail in Francis Creek near the city park/ballfields.
