Blue Mound State Park
Pool Fundraiser
The Friends of Blue Mound State Park organization is working to raise $1 million to help build a new aquatic center. This facility would replace the current 30-year-old pool, the only swimming pool in the Wisconsin State Park System.
Unfortunately, the current pool is quickly coming to the end of its operational lifetime. To continue water recreation at Blue Mound State Park, which has been enjoyed for more than three decades, we must start looking ahead and plan for our future.
The proposed pool features a zero-depth entry and activity pool, diving boards and lap lanes. A water slide would be phased in later after the initial construction. Additional work would include renovating the pool bathhouse and building an enclosed shelter to provide year-round rest room facilities, serve as a winter warming house, and allow special programs and family gatherings to be held during inclement weather.
The design for the new pool was inspired by feedback gathered from pool and park users throughout 2000 and 2001.
A fund-raiser of this magnitude needs a large number of volunteers. The Friends of Blue Mound State Park does not have the membership base to accomplish this task alone. Here are several ways you can help:
- Volunteer or become a member of the Friends of Blue Mound State Park and participate with the fundraising.
- Make a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of Blue Mound State Park. Make checks payable to Friends of Blue Mound State Park. Mail to:
