Become a Member of the
Friends of Blue Mound State Park
Would you like to get more involved in helping Blue Mound State
Park? Consider joining the Friends
of Blue Mound State Park. This is a group of volunteers
working together to benefit the park by enhancing and preserving
its natural resources and offering activities and projects.
Members can share their skills and talents with others while enjoying the park. A major time commitment isn’t necessary but members are welcome to volunteer as much as their schedules permit.
Throughout the years, the Friends of Blue Mound State Park have made significant and generous contributions to the park. Some examples include:
- Playing a key role in funding and building the accessible cabin
- Buying new play equipment
- Aiding in Prairie and Oak Savanna Restoration
- Building a sun arbor for the swimming pool
- Giving funds for the park entrance sign
- Coordinating annual candlelight ski events
- Bike trail cleanup
- Giving funds for exhibits in the nature center
- Bridge and culvert repair on park trails
- Buying trail and cross-country ski equipment.
A partnership between a friends group and the park can provide the added services the visitors want and the staff alone can not provide.
