Roche-A-Cri State Park Conditions

Conditions as of Monday, February 6, 2012:

The main gate is closed for the season. Parking will available in the winter lot on Czech Avenue. Parking is not allowed in front of the park entrance gate. Vehicle admission stickers are required. If you self-register for an annual sticker it will be mailed to you.

Hunting is not allowed in Roche-A-Cri State Park.

Notice: The stairway to the top of the bluff is closed. Work has started on the removal and reconstruction of the stairway. The stairway will remain closed during the construction and through winter. Check out the petroglyph viewing area and all the great trails in the park. The stairway will reopen in 2012.

Camping

The park is looking for a campground host for September 2012. Call (608) 565-2789 for more information.

You can reserve campsites for 2012 by using the Web or by calling (888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275.

Firewood Notice: Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, firewood from out of state or from more than 25 miles away is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park or Forest properties. Also, firewood that has been in the Wisconsin emerald ash borer quarantined area [PDF 102KB] is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood at or near the park or forest where you are going. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline, (877) 303-WOOD ((877) 303-9663) for information before packing for a trip.

Vehicle admission stickers for 2012 are available now.

Check out the ecobox by the kiosk picnic shelter. GPS units are available to check out for geocaching in the park. There are opportunities all year for taking great photos for the annual photo contest! The Friends of Roche-A-Cri are always looking for new members.
