Elroy-Sparta State Trail Conditions

Conditions as of Thursday, July 2, 2009:

The trail is in good condition. Baltimore orioles, indigo buntings and rose breasted grosbeaks can be seen. Great Wisconsin Birding and Nature Trail [exit DNR].

The Sparta Depot, Kendall Depot, Elroy Commons and both walk-in campgrounds are all open. Well repair in the Elroy walk-in campground has been completed.

Bikers age 16 and older must purchase a pass before riding the trail. State trail passes can be purchased at the Kendall Depot/Trail Headquarters; (608) 463-7109, the Sparta Depot; (888) 540-8434 and other vendors along the trail. A listing of pass vendors is posted in each town.
