Elroy-Sparta State Trail Conditions

Conditions as of Tuesday, December 20, 2011:

The three tunnels on the Elroy-Sparta State Trail are closed for the season. During winter, snowmobile routes go around the tunnels.

State trail passes are required for bikers ages 16 and older. The state trail passes for 2012 are now available and can be purchased at the Sparta Chamber of Commerce, 111 Milwaukee St., in Sparta, (608) 269-4123.

Campgrounds

Both the Sparta and Elroy walk-in primitive campgrounds are closed for the season.
