Events

The candlelight ski event for Saturday, February 4, 2012 has been cancelled due to lack of snow.

Trails

Ski trails are only in marginal to fair condition.

Please note it is prohibited to have pets, hike, bike or snowshoe on groomed ski trails. Snowshoe and hiking is allowed on designated trails in the park. Mountain bike trails are closed. Please contact the park for current trail conditions at (608) 437-5711.

The two 40-foot observation towers are open year-round.

Camping

The campground is open year-round. All sites are walk-in only during winter. To reserve a campsite for dates May through October, call (888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275 or use the web. Reservations for weekends are highly recommended.

The rustic accessible cabin for people with disabilities is closed for the season. The cabin is open seasonally from May through mid-October. The cabin is designed to be wheelchair accessible and to accommodate up to four people. Contact the park for availability and reservations.

Firewood Notice: Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, firewood from out of state or from more than 25 miles away is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park or Forest properties. Also, firewood that has been in the Wisconsin emerald ash borer quarantined area [PDF 102KB] is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood at or near the park or forest where you are going. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline, (877) 303-WOOD ((877) 303-9663) for information before packing for a trip.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is closed for the year. The pool is open seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

More Information

All vehicles entering the park must have state park admission stickers, which can be purchased in the office or in the self-registration box at the entrance to the park.
