Picnicking in Wisconsin State Parks and Forests

All Wisconsin state parks and forests have picnic areas, and nearly all are accessible to people with disabilities.

You'll notice that most of our picnic areas, shelters, beaches, and other day-use areas have no garbage or recycling bins.

When you visit Wisconsin state parks, forests, and recreation areas for a few hours or less, you'll need to take your garbage and recyclables home with you. Our carry in, carry out page explains the reasons and and offers hints for complying.

Shelter reservations

Many Wisconsin state parks and forests have shelters or picnic areas that can be reserved for large group picnics and other events.
