Perrot State Park Conditions

Conditions as of Wednesday, February 1, 2012:

Trails

Cross-country ski trails are in poor condition due to the recent warm temperatures.

Hiking, snowshoeing and pets are not allowed on snow-covered ski trails. Brady's Bluff, Perrot Ridge, Black Walnut, and the Riverview Trail are all open for hiking and snowshoeing. Winter Map [PDF].

Camping

The campground is closed for the season. Reserve a campsite for dates up to 11 months in advance by using the Web or calling (888) 947-2757, TTY (800) 274-7275 ((888) WI-PARKS).

Firewood Notice: Due to the potential of carrying harmful tree pests and diseases, firewood from out of state or from more than 25 miles away is not allowed on Wisconsin State Park or Forest properties. Also, firewood that has been in the Wisconsin emerald ash borer quarantined area [PDF 102KB] is not allowed on properties outside of the quarantined area. Please buy firewood at or near the park or forest where you are going. Call the DNR toll-free Firewood Hotline, (877) 303-WOOD ((877) 303-9663) for information before packing for a trip.

Nature

Eagles have be seen standing along the edges of the ice as the Trempealeau River opens up. A single bluebird has been spending some time around the park headquarters.

River

The Trempealeau River and most of the main channel are ice-covered. The boat dock is removed for the winter season.

More Information

The 2012 annual state park stickers and trail passes are available for sale and are valid through December 31, 2012.
