Chris Niehaus started as the new Turtle Flambeau Scenic Waters Area Property Manager on August 2. Since 1991, Chris had been serving as a state lands Forester for 52,000 acres of state owned lands in Iron County. In addition she has worked as a Wildlife Technician, Forest Fire Control Assistant, and Forester for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Chris received her BS degree in forest management from UW-Stevens Point with an emphasis on recreation. She brings "unbridled" enthusiasm, strong organization skills, and a passion to protect the lands and waters which make up the Turtle Flambeau Scenic Waters Area.

Patrolling the Turtle-Flambeau Scenic Waters Area this summer is Ranger Josh Kamrowski. Josh grew up in Trempealeau, a small town about 20 miles north of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He studied wildlife management, ecology, and research at UW-Stevens Point where he graduated with a BS degree in 2005; in 2008, he attended Law Enforcement Academy and became certified as a law enforcement officer.

Last summer Josh worked as a Ranger for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in the Wisconsin Dells area where he patrolled Mirror Lake State Park, Rocky Arbor State Park, and the Dells Natural Areas along the Wisconsin River. Prior to that, he spent a year and a half as a Wildlife Technician for DNR in the southeast region of the state.
