Wisconsin currently has 59 species of reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and fish that are endangered or threatened with extinction. The Bureau of Endangered Resources' publication, Introduction to the Endangered and Threatened Vertebrate Species of Wisconsin, is a reference tool for natural resources managers, regional planning commissions, private land owners, and other county, state, and federal agencies involved with natural resource issues. This guide helps users with planning and decision making where endangered and threatened species concerns do or may exist. This index includes both historic and recent occurrences that have been reported in the counties.
