Goblin Fern (Botrychium mormo)
Synonym: Status: endangered in Wisconsin Habitat Description: in duff on shaded, open floor of northern mesic forests Habitat Classification Range: Ashland, Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Marinette, Oconto, Sawyer, Taylor, and Wood Comments: a tiny, succulent fern about 9cm (3-1/2") tall which sometimes does not appear above the leaf litter of the forest floor; during drought years it often does not appear at all.
