River and Stream Narratives of the Upper Chippewa Basin

Below are narrative descriptions for waters for which we have a description on file. Not all waters in the basin are listed below.


Dingdong Creek

Dingdong Creek is classified as a Class III trout waters (WDNR 1980) but existing use information indicates it is not supporting a trout fishery. Recent information indicates no water quality problems.

East Torch Creek

This river is classified as a Class III trout water (WDNR 1980), but existing use information indicates it is not supporting a trout fishery.

Moose River

Recent water quality information on the Moose River does not indicate problems.

Big Ike Creek

This creek has a good warm water sport fishery.

Venison Creek

Fisheries Management files indicate this stream has the potential to support trout but extsting use information indicates it is not supporting such a fishery. Beaver dams appear to be preventing Venison Creek from meeting its potential use as trout water. Venison has a good warm water sport fishery. Recent data indicates no water qaulity problems.

West Torch River

Fisheries Management files indicate this stream has the potential to support trout but existing use information indicates it is not supporting such a fishery. Beaver dams appear to be preventing the West Touch River from meeting its use as trout waters.
