Certification Standards & Review CouncilThis council is a nine member advisory body to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Laboratory Certification and Registration program. Council members represent a diverse group of environmental interests throughout the state including municipal, industrial, and commercial laboratories. Council Member TermsAccording to s. 299.107 (12) (c), Wis. Stats., members of the council shall serve for 3–year terms. A person may not serve more than 2 consecutive terms on the council. Council OfficersUnless otherwise provided by law, at its first meeting in each year every council shall elect a chairperson, vice chairperson and secretary from among its members. Any officer may be re-elected for successive terms. [s. 15.09 (2), Wis. Stats.]Council ChargeThe statute authorizes the Council to provide input to the DNR on work planning, fees, budget issues and variance requests.
