Manitowoc County Conservation Warden Bob Stroess
In addition to his public relations work and involvement with the youth, Warden Stroess’ persistence and investigative abilities resulted in the following cases being made: Littering Case – Bob worked on a significant littering case for over two years where a suspect would leave a bag of garbage at a county park/boat landing almost monthly. Through Bob’s investigative work, the suspect was eventually identified and charged with numerous littering citations totaling $2,600. Deer poaching case – In another case, Bob continued his investigation into a multiple deer poaching case since 2003 in the City of Manitowoc. Early on, some suspects were identified; however, false statements were made during the investigation. Through Bob’s investigative abilities and persistence, the suspect was ultimately identified and apprehended. Bob’s efforts are tied to Goal 1 and Goal 5 of the Law Enforcement strategic plan “Maintain Healthy and Diverse Wildlife and Habitats and Protecting Public Health and the Environment by Protecting our Air, Land and Water.”
