Law Enforcement HeadlinesEducation - Northern Wisconsin Deer ClassicEAU CLAIRE– Several wardens from Eau Claire and the surrounding area and wildlife biologists staffed a display at the Northern Wisconsin Deer Classic in Eau Claire where the Wall of Shame was featured. The Wall of Shame consists of 28 mounts of large bucks that were taken illegally throughout the state in the past 15 years. Each deer has a story that is summarized in a handout given visitors. Besides being an impressive display of Wisconsin deer, it stresses that noble ethics are required of all hunters and that citizen cooperation is essential in holding poachers accountable for their actions.
Enforcement - Near Blue River: Outfitter And 48 Individuals Face Numerous Charges Of Illegal Deer And Turkey HuntingRICHLAND CENTER – Charges against 48 individuals from 11 states have been filed in state and federal courts resulting from a two-year investigation into illegal white-tailed deer and wild turkey hunting in southwest Wisconsin, the Department of Natural Resources announced today. Education - Hunter Education Class Held at Hmong American Friendship AssociationMILWAUKEE – A recent hunter education class led by DNR Hunter Education Instructor Roger Xiong (standing right) was held at the Hmong American Friendship Association Milwaukee. The students in the photo (standing left and middle) received instruction on how two hunters should safely cross a fence. The class had 10 students and two instructors, Roger Xiong and Visual Xiong. After the written exam, which all the students passed, everyone traveled to "Shooters" in West Allis for some range experience and to put into practice the concepts they learned in class.
