Hunter Education Volunteers Needed For Special Program

If you are concerned about keeping hunting a safe and enjoyable sport, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource’s, Law Enforcement Hunter Education Program is looking for you!

A special program is now offered that requires very little time on the part of the volunteer instructors.  That program is an alternative delivery course which requires students to complete the book portion of the course either via a CD-ROM or on-line.  They then attend a special field day where they get the hands-on training and complete the program exams.  You may be especially interested in this program as it meets the needs of many Citizens, while keeping the volunteers’ time commitment to a minimum.

Interested individuals will be trained in teaching this program.  Equipment and instructional lesson plans on how to teach the field day activity will also be provided.

Wisconsin’s Hunter Education program began in 1967 and became mandatory in 1985 for persons born on or after January 1st, 1973.  Both the NRA and the IHEA have recognized our program as being one of the best in North America. Since 1967 the hunting incident rate for injuries has dropped by 90 percent!
