What can we do to expedite the grant process?

1. Follow the Application Checklist and Instructions, and send us a complete application as soon as possible.



2. Order your appraisal early and use an appraiser who is familiar with DNR appraisal standards. We strongly recommend that before you commission an appraisal, you discuss the appraisal assignment with a DNR Real Estate Specialist, and require that your appraiser also do so before beginning the job. You will be disappointed if we cannot accept your appraisal because it does not meet DNR standards.



3. Order your title commitment early, and send us a copy as soon as you have it. Any title problems must be resolved before we can release a check.



4. If the grant is for an easement, we recommend that you ask the DNR to review your draft easement before you present it to the landowner.
