Land Management Plan Requirement

Approved Land Management Plan

Developing a Land management plan is an important tool to operating, maintaining, and managing the public's use of any property. The Urban Greenspace Program specifically requires that land acquisition projects be supported by a management plan approved by the project sponsor. A management plan identifies proposed land use of the area to be acquired including areas to be restored. It discusses how the property would be operated, maintained, and how public access to the property would be provided. The management plan should include a site plan for the property that would identify items such as land forms, water features, forest types, trail systems, and wildlife habitat. A management plan could be included in an approved Master Plan.
