Snowmobile Recreation CouncilCreated under s. 15.347(7), Stats., the Snowmobile Recreation Council (SRC) is a 15 member council appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate for staggered 3 year terms. At least 5 members of SRC shall be from the territory north, and at least 5 members shall be from the territory south of a line running east and west through the City of Stevens Point. The duties of the SRC are to conduct studies and make recommendations to the governor, legislature and the departments of natural resources and transportation regarding all matters affecting snowmobiling. The SRC assists the department of natural resources in developing policy regarding all phases of the snowmobile program. This involves dealing with snowmobile regulations and helping with the department review and recommendation of projects for grant assistance.
