This listing, arranged in alphabetical order by county, describes over 1,800 miles of trail and intensive use areas that will be available for spring, summer, and fall all-terrain vehicle riding in 2009. You will find below a brief explanation of the trail and the local contact. For the most current information on trail conditions, maps and the local trail or area opening/closing dates, please contact the office indicated. Most of the trail sponsors produce a quality map that is suitable for on-the-trail use. Note: All-terrain vehicles making use of these trails must be registered for public use or display a non-resident trail pass. ATV Registration Application).

Description: Dyracuse Mound Motorcycle Recreation Area. 15 miles south of Wisc. Rapids ( Archer Dr. east of State Hwy 13). Contains 2 ATV courses, 2 motorcycle courses, trails, shelter, toilets and parking. Admission fee is charged. No camping in the park.

Description: Dead Horse Run Trail. Approximately 79 miles of forest trail on moderately rolling terrain. Trailhead is located 3 miles north of Loretta (State Hwy 70) immediately off of County Trunk GG.

Tri-Co Recreational Corridor
Description: Approximately 62 miles of improved railroad grade through Ashland, Bayfield, and Douglas Counties that connects Ashland to Superior.

Barron County
Description: Approximately 30.8 with 13.5 miles of abandoned railroad grade between Barron and Turtle Lake (Cattail Trail) and approximately 9.8 miles of Barron County segment of Wild River Trail.

Description: Approximately 70.3 miles of trail extending from Port Wing to the Tri County Recreational Corridor and connecting with the Valhalla area trails.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Valhalla Area Trails. Approximately 84.9 miles of trail connecting the Valhalla Winter Sports area with the Tri County Corridor and Bayfield County's Battle Axe Trail.

Description: Approximately 54 miles of trail.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Presently, the revised Forest Management Plan will restrict ATV use to designated trail and routes. There are several trail systems signed and improved for ATV use. See Ashland, Bayfield, Price, & Taylor counties
Chippewa County
Description: Approximately 19 miles of trail open from May 15 to November 15. Most of the trail is on rolling terrain in the county forest. The trail connects to ATV routes in Chippewa and Rusk County. Approximately 5 miles of the trail are on graveled county forest roads and town roads, designated as routes. The trail has two rest areas with picnic tables, fire rings and pit toilets. ATV's must be operated on the designated trails. Off-trail riding is prohibited.

Clark County
Description: Approximately 86 miles of trail with additional interconnecting routes. Total ATV travel of 130 miles. Trails and routes wind and loop within the county forest. ATVs must operate on the designated trails and routes. Off trail riding is prohibited .State licensed motorcycles operated by a licensed driver are allowed on the ATV trails and routes. Non-street legal motorcycles can only operate on the Knobby Ridge Motorcycle Trail.

Douglas County
Description: Approximately 82.4 miles of trail that uses portions of the Saunders grade and Gandy Dancer Trail. Also 47 miles of Douglas County segment of Wild Rivers Trail.

Eau Claire County
Description: Approximately 17 miles of trail that connects the Clark County system with the Buffalo River Trail and 4 miles that connect Channey ATV trail to Town of Wilson routes.

Eau Claire Buffalo River Trail
Desciption: Approximately 36 miles of trail located on abandoned railroad grade in Trempealeau, Jackson, and Eau Claire counties (Mondovi - Fairchild).

Description: Approximately 20.6 miles of trail in the Florence area. And 12.1 miles of the Nicolet State Trail.

Description: Approximately 33 miles of looped trail on county forest lands 3 miles south of Crandon and 23 miles of the Nicolet State Trail.

Description: Approximately 98 miles of trail on state and county forest land.

Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Description: 6 miles of looped trail on gently rolling terrain in a special use area. A state park permit is required for car parking in the recreational area.

Description: Approximately 18 miles of trail in the Fayette and Wiota area connecting to the Cheese Country Trail.

Cheese Country Trail
Description: 47 miles of abandoned railroad grade extending from Mineral Point (Iowa County) to Darlington (Lafayette Co.) to Monroe (Green Co.) and 17 miles of the Pecatonica grade trail.

Description: The Augustyn Spring Trail (21 miles) is located in the Town of Ainsworth. The Parrish Highlands Trail (53 miles) has 3 trail access points near Parrish and connects with the Lincoln County Harrison Hills Trail. Also, 17.5 miles of the Wolf River State Trail and connecting spurs.

Chequamegon National Forest
Description: Flambeau Trails. 72 miles of signed trails on moderately rolling terrain. Trail access sites are at Blockhouse Lake parking area, and forest trail parking located on State Hwy 70 east of Fifield. Camping with trail access is available at Sailor Lake, Smith Rapids, and Newman Lake Campgrounds.

Description: The Village of Tigerton operates the Embarrass River ATV Park from dawn until dusk, seven days a week with approximately 20 miles of trail on 500 acres. The park includes a campground.
